Goodbye.

don't leave...
I won't let you go
it hasn't been long
so I can't see you go.
I hate goodbyes, farewells, abientos...
I get all sentimental.
my heart keeps playing this sad melody of instrumentals
because you're boarding a train that's leaving transcontinental.
And what is to come of life without thee?
will the birds still sing
if you decide to leave?
will the moon still rise
in the darkest of nights?
and will the sun still set
even after you have left?
we can't escape time... is inevitable
so lets make these few moments unforgettable.
but please when it's your time to leave
promise you'll never forget me...

Not my best work. Just some random thoughts and feelings I've compiled into words. I wrote this poem for several reasons. Some of the dearest people in my life are and moving on with their lives. I know what it feels like to be abandoned, which is why I fear goodbyes so much. I don't want this year to end because I'm not ready to let go of these people I love. I guess this is how life works. Maybe this is a test from God...a lesson I need to learn, and maybe I'll become a stronger person and heal all my past wounds.

Imogen Heap

Photobucket
Today I decided to promote one of my favorite female artist named Imogen Heap. Imogen Heap is very eccentric and one of a kind. Her music is abstract art and poetry, it's genuine and different. She reminds me of Picasso but in music. I feel like so many artists lack that in the music they produce. Imogen's creates her music in the most creative ways. Her voice is unique and her music touches my heart dearly. I admire Imogen's uniqueness and wish more music was like hers. Nowadays artists are more concerned with satisfiying their listeners rather and than producing beautiful and meaningful music they produce mediocre music with a catchy tune and catchy beat. In my opinion nowadays the essence of music has been lost because some artists are more interested in their paychecks than the actual work they produce.Imogen has inspired my poetry and her unique style has changed my music preferences. I have become really fond of alternative rock, indie rock, and even reggae because I have become more diverse and open minded with music. Music is not just a form of entertainment it's art, poetry, literature and its people like Imogen who preserve the true meaning of music.

well I hope you listen to this some of Imogen's work please be open minded, and I promise that after a couple times you listen to it you'll fall in love with her unique stlye of music.

some of my amature poetry

moving flowers Pictures, Images and Photos

I remember,
singing hit me baby one more time
as I danced in the kitchen at dinner time
to a time that was young and bright
made with laughs and pillow fights
and playing tag till the sky turned into night.
I remember,
riding my two wheeler bike
strait into a rose bush
you held me tight
and told me it was okay to cry.
I remember,
running through the sprinklers in the summertime
picking flowers and counting butterflies
never keeping track of time...
time, time it just flys on by.
I remember,
jump rope and those silly hand games
about some african lady who kissed kissed kissed with her red hot lips
that time was made of utter bliss.
I remember,
the day you left
without any remorse or regret,
it's one memory I wished to forget...
I remember,
how life used to be,
how I used to be,
and how those memories will never leave me...

the inspiration to this poem came from a few random memories that occassionally cross my mind, I reflect on these memories because I believe that every memory and event be it big or small has greatly influnced in shaping the person I am today. I am a child at heart who misses
the time of innocence and pure happiness because childen live in an oblivious utopian world, and growing up is difficult. I don't ever wish to change or take back any memory because I have grown from them so much.

Cabaret

On saturday my older sister took me to USC to watch a play callled Cabaret. Walking into the small theatre I had no idea what this play would be about. The play took place in Germany before world war 11. The setting was as a night club or brothel house called The Kit Kat club,
where men and women entertain each other and the audience. The women wore dark lingere and heavy makeup, and the story line was told by a funny capricious host who also worked in the club.

The play addressed many issues regarding homosexuality, love, happiness, and how Nazi's in germany altered these issues. Many people were forced to change their lifestyles and even their personalities to avoid the Nazis. There was one scene in the play that deeply moved my sister and I. The scene involved the host and an abnormally tall man in a gorilla mask and pink tutu. The two danced intimately whild the host sang "if only you knew, if only you saw her like I do". I immediately thought of my sister and her boyfriend, my sister is latina and light skinned her boyfriend is black. Whenever my sister and her boyfriend are together they are faced with discrimination from all races particulary other latinos and blacks. That scene made me reflect on the people I care about, and how it shouldn't matter what anyone else see's as long as I care for them.
The play ended ironically the way it began, except the actors came out with their faces wiped clean and wearing all black and the host wore white, he stood in the middle as a nazi casually sauntered the stage with an expression of evil satisfaction, and then the stage went black.
This play was like none I've ever seen. It was unique, entertaining, and beautiful I loved everything about it and the symbolic meaning behind it. I wish I could watch it again, if you hear about this play I reccomend watching it, but with an open mind and an open heart.
