How happy is the blameless Vestal's lot!
The world forgetting, by the world forgot.
Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind!
Each prayer accepted, and each wish resign'd.
- -Alexander Pope
That is my favorite quote from the movie Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. The movie although, not very popular in the box office is one of the greatest most influential movies I have ever watched. The movie isn't mediocre or predictable like many you see nowadays. Its eccentric and brilliant! Its a love story like no other! Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet's acting is impeccable, you fall in love with their characters. The movie is dynamic and thought provoking. Its a physcological thriller. Its a must see. It may require watching it a few times to really get it.
The quote makes me wonder if I had the option to erase something from my mind would I do it? Would you? How would it feel to have a clean slate, to be able to wake up in the morning with no more pain, or sad unforgotten memories. How would the world and humans be different if this was possible?
My philosophy of the matter is simply that life does not come with erasers. How else would people learn if they didn't make mistakes or go through something traumatic in their lives? I believe that these painful and hard impediments should be overcome. People need to become stronger and grow, otherwise people would make the same mistakes. I am grateful for every single mistake I ever made in my life. I take mistakes as a learning experience. Live & learn, its a lame cliche but its oh so true.
Watch the movie yourself and make your own opinion about the matter, its worth it:)

Great post, Cassandra! Nice focus and choice of topic: I too love Eternal Sunshine. For your next post, work on its (possessive) vs. it's (it is), and make sure to proofread for spelling.
